Window Tinting | Safety & Security
Is your glass safe?
Does it comply with Health and Safety Executive recommendations (Regulation 14)?
People take glass for granted. It is extremely fragile and, if it is not toughened or laminated, it is extremely dangerous. If you fall against glass, it will break. The resulting glass shards can cause injury and possibly death. You need to do everything you can, not only to protect against injury, but also against the possibility of legal action which could follow.
If your glass does not have a British Standard Kite Mark, it does not comply with regulations. SolarGuardTinting.co.uk can install Safety Film that will ensure that your existing glass complies to British Standard BS6206 Class A or B.
It is more cost effective and less disruptive than re-glazing which is why window film is the best option available to you.
For public buildings we can fit a clear security film to ordinary glass to bring it up to BS6206BIF, for a fraction of the cost of replacing all the glass!! This film effectively laminates the glass making it far safer in the event of an accident. It also makes the window far more secure against attempted break in's!
Our clear security film also blocks 99% of the damaging UV rays (which causes fading) which makes its ideal for use in galleries, clothes shops or anywhere where goods are displayed in front of a window.
Once applied to the glass, the window film bonds directly to the surface, so if the glass is broken the shards are held in place to prevent injury.
The window films are clear, so once applied they will not alter the appearance of the glass. All our Safety Window Films are marked to BS6206 Class A/B to show that your glass complies with Safety Standards.
These films have a 10 year guarantee when professionally installed by our company.
